As my fellow writer/blog people Paul Campbell and Stuart Perry have already flagged up, Charlie Brooker's 'Screenwipe' about TV Scriptwriting was excellent. He's talked to a fantastic line up of writers and writer-producer-showrunner types (though a few women might have been welcome) about the realities of creating and working on things that most of us will have seen.
As a scriptwriter himself (I thought 'Dead Set' was ace, and way better than the potentially hackneyed set up might suggest) He knew the right questions to ask, and more importantly, really let the writers just talk.
It was very different to the misanthropes 'TV Burp' of a typical 'Screenwipe'- and maybe should have been called something snappy like 'Charlie Brooker talks to TV Scriptwriters' to avoid disappointing those hoping to see him eviscerate 'Britannia High' - but it was an incredibly useful 50 minutes.
-Oh and one of the writers interviewed was Tony 'Life On Mars' Jordan hence the Trumpton-tastic pic.
